The Intermezzo Project

The INTERMEZZO PROJECT is a program conducted by Charity Music Inc to:

PROMOTE public awareness and understanding of the obstacles faced by homeless families, children, and youth.

PROVIDE Musical Instruments, Music Education, and Creative opportunities to students in the
MISD - Education Project for Homeless Children and Youth.

SUPPORT
Michigan Local District Homeless Education Liaisons to insure they have the needed musical instruments and resources to help cultivate the hidden creative talents of homeless students.

Homeless Students are at a stark disadvantaged when it comes to being successful in school. They score consistently lower on standardized tests in both reading and math. Less than 25% of homeless students graduate, which greatly reduces their options for the future.

Studies have shown that music education vastly improves a child's academic performance and behavior.
For many homeless students, music can be an important form of creativity and expression that keeps them on the right track.

The Intermezzo Project is dedicated to providing these students with the instruments they need to explore their hidden musical talents.
