Homeless Students are at a stark disadvantaged when it comes to being successful in school. They score consistently lower on standardized tests in both reading and math. Less than 25% of homeless students graduate, which greatly reduces their options for the future.
Studies have shown that music education vastly improves a child's academic performance and behavior.
For many homeless students, music can be an important form of creativity and expression that keeps them on the right track.
The Intermezzo Project is dedicated to providing these students with the instruments they need to explore their hidden musical talents. |
